The Velocity of Autumn @ Limelight Actors Theater
Feb 22 @ 8:00 pm – 9:30 pm
The Velocity of Autumn @ Limelight Actors Theater

“The Velocity of Autumn” is a wickedly funny and wonderfully touching discovery of the fragility and ferocity of life.
Alexandra, the 80 year old heroine of “The Velocity of Autumn”, has barricaded herself in her Brooklyn brownstone. Scattered around the otherwise cozy room are dozens of wine bottles, Mason jars and other assorted receptacles, all of which have been turned into Molotov cocktails. It is clear that should anyone attempt to remove her forcibly from the premises, the premises — and perhaps half the block — will be going with her.
Alexandra’s Alamo is breached by an unexpected visitor, her estranged son Chris, who wakes her from her mild doze when he clambers in the window, having climbed a tree. No sooner are the words “Hi, Mom” uttered than the emotional bombs start detonating.

Gilroy Garlic Festival @ Gilroy Garlic Festival

Celebrating 41 Years of Family Fun!

Known as the world’s greatest summer food festival, the Gilroy Garlic Festival is held each year on the last full weekend of July. The 40th annual Gilroy Garlic Festival will be held on July 26, 27, and 28, 2019 at Christmas Hill Park in Gilroy, California.

Thousands of visitors come every year to enjoy three full days of great garlicky food, live music, arts and crafts, cooking competitions, and family fun. And of course they consume lots and lots of garlic while they’re here—about 2 tons every year!

The heart of the Festival is Gourmet Alley, where the famous “Pyro Chefs” cook up sizzling scampi and calamari while other hundreds of other volunteers prepare longtime favorites like pepper steak sandwiches, sausage sandwiches, pasta con pesto, stuffed mushrooms, garlic bread, and garlic fries.

Festival visitors enjoy live entertainment on three stages, plus celebrity chef demonstrations and cooking competitions like the Great Garlic Cook-Off. There are also many other food booths, beer and wine tasting, arts & crafts, and a fun children’s area.

Discount tickets are available online and at Raley’s, Nob Hill, and Bel Air Foods stores.
