The original “Gilroy Bonanza Days” debuted in 1968 with an annual grand parade that celebrated Gilroy’s wild west heritage, featuring spectacularly designed floats, and marching bands drawing participants from all over California. Onlookers dressed as cowboys and girls, bringing the whole Gilroy community together.
Leadership Gilroy class of 2018 is excited to re-introduce a taste of the original Gilroy Bonanza Day to the community with a western flare parade on Saturday, September 29th. The parade will be open to all local schools, businesses, and organizations. It will conclude with a grand finale celebration and float contest; where all school floats will be competing for a chance to win a cash prize for their school.
