Plans for the 2021 Gilroy Garlic Festival are still in progress. Stay tuned for more details.
Thousands of visitors come every year to enjoy three full days of great garlicky food, live music, arts and crafts, cooking competitions, and family fun. And of course they consume lots and lots of garlic while they’re here—about 2 tons every year!
Great Garlic Food
The heart of the Festival is Gourmet Alley, where the famous “Pyro Chefs” cook up sizzling scampi and calamari while hundreds of other volunteers prepare longtime favorites like pepper steak sandwiches, sausage sandwiches, pasta con pesto, stuffed mushrooms, garlic bread, and garlic fries. And no trip to the Festival is complete without trying a FREE sample of garlic ice cream!
Entertainment & Family Fun
Festival visitors also enjoy live entertainment on three stages, plus celebrity chef demonstrations and cooking competitions like the Great Garlic Cook-Off and the Garlic Showdown. There are also many other food booths, beer and wine tasting, arts & crafts, and a fun children’s area.
INSIDER TIP: If you can sneak out of work and come to the Festival on Friday, you’ll find fewer crowds—and still enjoy all the same fantastic food, fine wines, live entertainment and more!

Since 1979, the Gilroy Garlic Festival Association has donated more than $11.5 million back to the local community. Where else can you have so much fun and do so much good?
