Take a Stroll Back in Time

The Gilroy Historic Paseo is a pathway that conveniently connects the shops and restaurants on Monterey Street with adjacent free parking lots. As you stroll through the Paseo, take a moment to look at the historic murals and interpretative panels to learn more about the city’s storied past, from the Early Settlers and roots of Agriculture through The Cowboy Era, the growth of Commerce and Hospitality, and of course, Gilroy’s long love affair with Garlic. (Located on Monterey Street between Fifth and Sixth Streets in downtown Gilroy)

Monthly Guided Walking Tours

The Gilroy Historical Society and Gilroy Museum host free Historical Walking Tours on the first Saturday of each month, offering a fun and informative way to explore the city’s past. Each tour focuses on a different historic area or theme—from charming downtown streets to local cemeteries—guided by a member of the Gilroy Historical Society. Tours begin at 10:00 AM and last about two hours; meet in front of the Gilroy Museum and wear comfortable shoes. No reservations are needed, and donations are always appreciated!
