U.K. Travel Representatives Enjoy a Garlicky Good Time in Gilroy
November 1, 2017 (Gilroy, CA):In October, VisitGilroy welcomed a group of nine U.K. travel agents for a Super FAM (Familiarization) Tour of Gilroy. During their two-day stay, the guests enjoyed an itinerary packed with fine dining, family fun, outlet shopping, wine tasting, and more in the “Garlic Capital of the World.”
Upon their arrival in the evening, the Super FAM Tour group got together for dinner at The Milias Restaurant in downtown Gilroy. The guests sampled delicious appetizers, desserts, and a variety of local wines. Adam Sanchez, Chef and Co-Owner of The Milias Restauarant, and John Aver of Aver Vineyards shared some history about Gilroy and the wineries along the Santa Clara Valley Wine Trail.
The U.K. travelers stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn and Best Western Plus Forest Park Inn and enjoyed complimentary breakfasts at their hotels. Then, they visited Gilroy Gardens Family Theme Park, where they were treated to a guided tour that included a ride on South County Backroads, photos with the world-famous Circus Trees, and a dash through the thundering Bonfante Falls.
The group then headed over to Gilroy Premium Outlets, where Heather Roach, Marketing Director for Gilroy Premium Outlets, presented them with VIP bags full of gifts and coupons. The guests then split up to do some shopping before meeting up again for lunch at Ginger Café. Fortino Winery provided three different varietals of wine to accompany the meal.

The October Super FAM Tour to Gilroy included United Kingdom-based travel agents representing The Travel Village, Premier Holidays, Bailey Robinson, Flight Centre, Bon Voyage, Gold Medal, Travel Counsellors, and Platinum Travel.
